Department of Emissions and Sources provides the basic routine operations and maintenance systems REZZO 1-3 and further information and additional resources, development and completion of REZZO its conversion to enable the direct use for the transfer of emission data as required by international institutions (international conventions and commitments, information system EIONET / CORINAIR, environmental statistics).

Secures the cooperation with the CSO, CEI and other authorities and institutions of the regular annual emission balance of the CR in both the national and the regional scale. These data are an important part of the Environment Report CR and are taken up by relevant statistical authorities. Department also ensures the distribution of data and information on emissions and their sources for the management sphere, institutions and organizations state and local governments and other users, including data processing for scattering studies, master plans, energy development plans, etc.

For tasks in the field of international cooperation ensures the creation of data bases for reporting emissions of air pollutants in the Czech Republic, commitments arising from international agreements and cooperation in the field of air protection. These include the Convention on Long-Range Transmission of Air Pollution across national boundaries (CLRTAP) in the UNECE and data on annual emissions of pollutants to the Eurostat / OECD. Further provides data processing for reportingových performance obligations related to EU directives: the directive  on national emission ceilings, 2001/81/EC, directive on the incineration of waste, 2000/76/EC, directive on the limitation of emissions of volatile organic compounds, 1999/13/EC and the directive on the limitation of certain pollutants into the air from large combustion plants, 2001/80/EC.
